64-Year-old And 2 Others Arrested in Anambra For Carjacking


A 64-year-old carjacker has been arrested by the police in Anambra State while attempting to sell a Toyota Tacoma jeep stolen in Owerri, Imo State. The suspect, identified as Monday Uche was arrested together with two others, Sunday Ofoekwe (42) and Joseph Chikezie (60), believed to be his accomplice.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters Amawbia, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Nkeiruka Nwode, said the suspects conspired with one Samuel Okowa and Johnson Okowa, still at large and removed the vehicle with registration No KGS 737 KS from where it was parked in a church in Owerri, Imo State.

“The suspects were tracked down by the Anambra State police and were arrested at Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the State,” she said.

Nwode who hinted that the suspects had confessed to the crime, said they were assisting the police with useful information, adding that they would soon be prosecuted.
