Road Decongestion to Begin Soonest – Commissioner.

The Anambra State government through the Ministry of Road, Rail and Water Transportation has concluded plans to commence in earnest the decongestion of roads in the state.
The commissioner, Hon Charles Uchenna Okafor Wiper made this known in an interview with newsmen in his office at Jerome Udorji Secretariat Awka, he told the press that the exercise will last for six weeks.
Speaking further, Hon Okafor Wiper said the ministry will collaborate with relevant ministries, Departments and Agencies like, Ministry of Environment, Commerce and Industry, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra Traffic Management Agency, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra amongst others in decongesting the roads and returning sanity on our roads.
The commissioner declared that rickety/abandoned vehicles parked along the roads would be evacuated, other activities on the roads like street trading, Load and Off Loading of Vehicles along the road will not be tolerated.
Answering questions about setting up a Decongestion Taskforce, the Honourable Commissioner told the newsmen that a taskforce team had been inaugurated with membership cutting across all security agencies and interest groups like The Army, Navy, Police, NSCDC, FRSC, ATMA, OchaBrigade and others.
