Anambra Central Senatorial Election has been described as peaceful and well organised by some stakeholders who spoke to the ABS reporters Ogochukwu Oranu and Emengini Osadebe who monitored the election at Idemili North and South as well as Dunukofia

Those who spoke include Chief Felix Obunadike, Nnabuike Ibegbu,Sunday Nweke commended the peaceful conduct of the election despite low turnout of people.Mr.Eyeleso Tope, Resident Electoral Officer for Idemili North said they distributed all the electoral materials in time and few hitches like transportation and faulty card reader were rectified.


Comrade Don Onyenji who spoke to ABS at St, John the Baptist Catholic Church Akwu Ukwu expressed joy that Anambra Central will now have representative at the Senate after almost three years of court litigations.

He regretted the delayed judgment and lost the zone suffered and called for wisdom on the side of politicians and also urged the judiciary to work towards quick dispensation of justice necessary for democracy to thrive.

Meanwhile, the Anambra Central Senatorial District Rerun has been rated high as credible, free and fair by different Stakeholders.

Voting commenced in most polling units between Eight and Nine O’clock and counting followed immediately at exactly Two O’clock in the afternoon within Awka South and North Local Government Areas with the process recording a peaceful process.

The Traditional Ruler of Amanuke in Awka North Local Government Area, Igwe Alphonsus Ezebuilo who spoke to the ABS at Union Primary School Amanuke after performing his civic responsibility gave the Independent National Electoral Commission a pass mark stating that they have greatly improved with the process since the last election that held on November 18th.

Similarly, the Chairman of Anambra State Housing Corporation, Chief Godson Ezenagu and another community leader in Mgbakwu, Barrister Ekemezie Obidigwe also commended the exercise stating that peaceful election is being instituted with great speed in the State while a community Stakeholder at Urum, a community also in Awka North, Mr John Arinze expressed happiness with the process and stated that the low turnout may be as a result of low enlightenment.
