The wife of the State Governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, has called on parents with disabled children to avail them the opportunity of free training on skills / education
The wife of the Governor made the call during her visit to Anambra East council area of the state as part of this year’s local government tour, where no fewer than five hundred less privileged persons smiled home with gift items like bags of rice, grinding machines, rappers, school bags, among others.Chief Mrs Obiano, who appreciated the people for supporting the Governor, advised them to work collectively towards the realization of his second term aspiration, to consolidate on his achievements.
She disclosed that the free training of the disabled persons in the state on skills and education is part of the present administration’s effort to giving all the state’s residents sense of belonging, and advised parents with such children to registered them through the state’s Ministry of Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs.
Earlier in an address, the Transition Committee Chairman of the local government, Honourable Pius Ifeadi, said Governor Willie Obiano deserve the second term as he has proven himself a good and God fearing leader, through his selfless and wise disposition in management of the affairs of the state, and assured that the people will not compromise their believe in APGA government on the November eighteenth election.
On her part, the wife of the TC Chairman, Doctor Mrs Nkemdilim Ifeadi, who spoke on behalf of the women in the area, thanked the Governor’s wife for her good works in the state especially as it concerns the less privileged.
In her speech, the state Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Doctor Mrs Victoria Chikwelu, advised the state’s residents to always protect projects constructed for them by the wife of the state Governor through her CAFE initiative, against vandals, as a way of complementing her efforts.
In their separate speeches, some stakeholders in the area, including the Special Adviser to the governor on Political Matters, Comrade Chinedu Obidigwe, Commissioner for works, Honourable Law Chinwuba, Managing Director Anambra State Waste Management Agency, Honourable Philip Chinwuba, National President General Anambra State Association of Town Union, Chief Alex Onukwue, among others, who described Governor Obiano as a visionary leader, maintained that there is no need for change of power in the state, as the Obiano government has exhibited commendable leadership quality.
Among the Traditional Rulers that graced the occasion, were the Traditional Rulers of Aguleri, Eze Christopher Idigo, Eziaguluotu- Aguleri, Eze Peter Udeorji, Umuoba-Anam, Sir George Obalum.
