Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has it that preparations are on going for Post UTME exercise for admissions into the 2017/2018 academic session.
This hint was given by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the University, Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu on his Facebook timeline.
According to him, “UNIZIK has already started preparation for post UTME for 2017/2018 admission. Candidates must start preparing immediately.”
Furthermore, he also hinted what the cut-off mark may likely be judging from the cut off mark last year. “For UNIZIK, it was 200 for all courses except Faculty of Education which was 180”, the post read.
However, we await the official information after the university management must have met over the issue.
Recall that JAMB in a meeting with all the Vice Chancellors, Provosts, Rectors and other heads of institutions on Tuesday pegged its cut off mark at 120 for Universities and 100 for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. JAMB further noted that institutions are at liberty to peg their own Cut-off marks but should not go below that of JAMB. “Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB”, JAMB Registrar.
JAMB further gave clearance to institutions to conduct their own Post UTME citing that the earlier cancellation of the exercise was a mistake. “Cancellation of Post- UTME is a mistake,” he said.
He noted that banning of post-UTME led to a lot of irregularities by candidates and some institutions.”- JAMB Registrar
