The event was the second Pastoral visit of the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. P. C Ezeokafor to Holy Family Parish Agulu today September 24, 2017.

His Lordship in his homily urged the congregation to always pray for our Leaders in positions of authority as well as requested all to go out and cast their votes on the day of election as scheduled by INEC come November 18 this year. The Bishop expressed concern that Anambra needs to continue to move forward not backward.

The Chairman, Governor Willie Obiano Re-election Campaign Committee, Chief Sir Dr. Victor Umeh while addressing the Parishioners, highlighted the achievements of the APGA -led administration of His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano in Anambra State with particular reference to Security of life and prompt payment of Workers Salary and Pensions in the State, notwithstanding the economic recession. He assured them that Governor Willie Obiano will consolidate on his achievements in his second term in office and appealed to them to cast their votes for APGA so as to re-elect Obiano as Governor for a second term.

The Governor donated One Million Naira to the Church building project through his representative, the Head of Service, Dr. Harry Udu, while Chief Victor Umeh OFR donated Five Hundred Thousand Naira in support of the meritorious Award bestowed upon Dr. Lady Vera Ejiofor who was accompanied by the former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Peter Ejiofor, the SSA to Governor of Diaspora, Hon. Agupugo CY, the Chairman of Anaocha LGA, Chief Engr. Ikeobi Ejiofor (Ikeoha Obeledu) amongst others.

High points of the event was 120 Candidates that received the Sacrament of Confirmation performed by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese as well as fund raising for church building project and presentation of Award to illustrious sons and daughters of the community.
